Recent Changes
- This is no longer the front page! Now moving over to dc.blog, my
new content management/blogging system.
- Colour scheme.
- Smiffy's Place has been, up to now, maintained on this server by means of various
scripts and rsync over (Open)SSH. From now on (12 March, 2006), the whole site is under
SubVersion control. (SubVersion is a version management
system used by software developers and the like, similar to
CVS, and has nothing to do with sneaky
undermining of an oppressive régime.) If anything in this site no longer works, blame the
SubVersion repository.
- Source Browser - my source examination user agent, now
available for public use. This programme retrieves a web page and displays the raw page
source, with no rendering other than breaking on the close of HTML elements, for ease of reading.
- Various bits from the OzeWAI 2005 Conference

Current Stuff [smiffysplace.com]
I'm putting most new material here for convenience (or laziness).
- Weather - Weather reports, instruments and software, mostly related to my 1-Wire® weather station. My server logs
indicate that this is the most popular part of my site, after my web log.
- Flours & Grains
- HTML::XHTML::Lite, a light-weight Perl module providing an alternative to CGI.pm for certain, specialised applications.
- Matthew's Résumé
- Raincalc - Software under development for calculations for rainwater storage, stormwater management, etc. Soon to include geo-referenced rainfall data for the whole of South Australia.
- My FOAF data
- GPG Key
- Test & Measurement Equipment - various equipment that I use. (Page added 2005-01-25)
Current Stuff [elsewhere]
- Project Noddwr - in due course, information about all my projects that related to technology for independent living will reside here. This will include material from the (largely defunct) Tivis project, amongst others.
- SciSalvage - a wiki site devoted to building a knowledgebase of old equipment that can be recycled for the purposes of amateur (or other) science.
- KBC Site - my IT consultancy business.
- WebSticky - my attempt to do for bookmarks/favorites what webmail did for e-mail. WebSticky features Aggie the Aggregator, an RSS aggregator; whilst Aggie will be an integral component of the WebSticky system, a basic version is being released under the GNU Public License.
- FOAF Explorer view of my FOAF data.
- Tivis Project & Accessibility Stuff.
Should really be integrated into either this or the
KBC site.
- Stockland - the village of my former abode.
Writing the original site here led to many exciting and unexpected things,
moving to Australia not in the least. Under gradual revision (gradual in the sense of plate tectonics.)
Old Stuff
Much of this is seriously out of date. All technical/accessibility items should be re-homed
at Project Noddwr.
- Holiday 2000
- old site, saved for posterity; includes the skiing kangaroo.
Now updated to remove all the horrible frames and things, with
a view to making it more accessible.
- SaySable Project
- CSS On Demand - it worked, but got abandoned anyway. Resurrection is possible.
